Dear Editor,
Your senior readers and readers with friends or relatives who are seniors should always be aware that suspicious telephone callers asking personal questions are never legit. My uncle received a call on a recent Saturday from a caller who said she was doing a survey and asked if he was related to me. He replied yes and she then asked where I was born. My Aunt interjected and asked who the person was and why she was asking these questions. The caller responded she was the Township Clerk and she was updating her records. My Aunt provided my telephone number and told the woman to call me direct if she wanted any personal information. I am a resident in Mullett Township and the Township Clerk, Rachel Osborn certainly has no need for any resident's birthplace information. I never received any inquiries from any "Township Clerk" and must assume there was some nefarious reason for the call. It was reported to the police. I would encourage any readers who receive such calls to immediately report them to the police and make a record of the calling number from your telephone's caller ID.
